Indie music to the world

We know today that Indie music popular for its low profile and opposite to current music trends and needs. Artists take ability to survive in today’s music industry without compromising on their beliefs. But today’s system requires big help and also luck for artists to break into the music world industry. They need some tips to take into account.

From my research on internet one of the biggest ways for Indie artists to perform to audience, get some experience, and start building reputations on the Indie scene are showcase events. USA offers one of the largest showcase events for Indie and other music. It’s called The Independent Music World Series. Check out for more info on MySpace. I like saying of the vice president of sales and marketing for one of the major sponsors Tony Van Veen : “Indie artists play a vital role in keeping the music industry energised and thriving”. Van Veen is primarily a CD and DVD manufacturer that caters to independent musicians, filmmakers, and small businesses.

Here are some Showcase events for rising Indie musicians:

  1. IMWS welcome artists from all genres. It consists of 12 music industry professionals known as judges. Artists are judged on song writing abilities, originality, musical performance, vocal and lead instrument performance. Vibes are also paid attention here.
  2. “Palais de Festivals” the Cannes festival in France is other big showcase event for these artists. The event consists of talent showcases, the conference track and networking events also. These showcases teach new artists and their managers to innovative ideas. Talented and well-known artists and musicians are here to help in bringing new music to the public’s attention. Media programmers and record company representatives, attend to find new trends and sounds here, so this is chance for artists and bands to spurt in visibility.

The Mid-Atlantic Music Conference in Charlotte NC is a music conference that is still growing since its inception. Artists need to qualify to win one of thirty coveted slots, which take place for final performance in the Halton Theatre. Talent scouts and music executives can use the opportunity to sign up for labels if they qualify.

John Phillips and Bryan Banks as music enthusiasts launched the Steamtown Music Showcase in September 2006. Bands can use this showcase to demonstrate their original music and song writing capabilities to audience. The event is held in a different town every year. See news in advance.

So, my research showed that showcase events are the vital event in giving new artists a “leg-up” in the music industry. This opportunity gives to gain stage performance experience and earn name in world of music. This is the way to catch may the eye of a music executive or label producer who’s looking for the Indie sound. If you’re looking for a way to promote your Indie music, check out these showcase events in your town. What do you have to lose?

I wish all new artists good luck to get their labels. Peace!
